Discwoman co-founder Umfang is a Brooklyn-based DJ, producer, and “technofeminist” with an atypically minimal approach to techno DJing, where moments of silence speak just as much as the most raucous. Equally atypical are the nightlife experiences she hopes to create – ones which feature all-women lineups and staff, from bartenders to light and sound technicians to the selectors behind the booth – which, alongside her social vocations, have solidified her as a vital voice in the technosphere.
